East Cape Road Trip - Highlights!

Updated: Jul 22, 2020

Now that the trip is all wrapped up, here are a few of my favourite images.

Day 1 - We stayed at Pukawa and ventured around the area.

The best sunrise of the trip - even though I was fighting off a cold.

Driving around looking at all the fresh snow - love the clouds in this image.

That Taupo Tree - with the moody waters.

Turangi

My favourite image of the trip - a random log!

Day 2 - Pukawa to Rotorua

A slight detour into the Whirinaki Forest & one of my favourite images of the trip.

And the well-sought image from that majestic location: Te Whaiti Nui a Toi Canyon

Day 3 - Rotorua to Whakatane

A misty start to the morning, on the side of the road in the rain - couldn't resist the forest shot.

And hiding from the rain in the Redwoods - snapped this "looking-up" shot.

Making the rounds of the lakes, a misty, moody Lake Okataina.

Sunset in Whakatane - That Whakatane Tree?

Day 9 - Napier to Home

Te Mata Peak, Hawkes Bay

(Not quite) Maraetotara Falls

So, thats sums up the best photos of the trip. We decided the theme of this trip was "Moody" due to the grey moody skies that we just could not escape. I managed to keep up with the editing and blogging throughout the whole trip (probably due to the low shutter count and early sunsets).

Our next adventure is settling into our newly built home and setting up my studio. Stay tuned on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates.
